Traumatic stress plays a critical, but reversible, role in staff burnout. Improve staff retention and bolster morale by addressing the underlying issue: Trauma and the Brain. BraveBrains provides dynamic professional development that gets past the dry data and brings the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) literature to life in a way that helps educators know not just why it matters, but what can we do?!

Is your staff well-versed in ACEs research and resilience? Let’s jump right into the user-friendly BraveBrains framework for understanding trauma, brain development, and how we can change the trajectory for struggling students. Don’t worry, you don’t have to adopt a whole new program or curriculum! Our practical strategies (rooted in the latest brain science) are a vital supplement to your work, reaching students who often slip through the cracks. Keep staff and students functioning their best with an hour, a day, or ongoing consultation with BraveBrains founder, Jessica Sinarski, LPCMH. Live and virtual options available.

Teachers

Feeling overwhelmed? Educators have always had the herculean task trying to figure out the best ways to help students learn. The increase in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and subsequent behavioral problems is only making that job more difficult for everyone involved. Luckily, a little knowledge can go a long way toward improving outcomes for struggling students, reducing disruptive behaviors, and increasing job satisfaction.

Ready for some DIY learning? Take a few minutes to recharge with BraveBrains founder Jessica Sinarski in this reflective activity.

Turnaround for Children

These are the well-researched Building Blocks for Learning developed by Turnaround for Children. Their model synthesizes what you might already instinctively know: Children struggling with those foundational building blocks are at a severe disadvantage with all the other aspects of learning! Want more growth mindset? We have to lay a foundation of healthy attachment, stress management, self-regulation, and self-awareness to get there!

Pre-school through 2nd Grade

Little bodies, big behaviors! And the adults who are trying to deal with those big behaviors are often left frustrated and hurt. Get ahead of the problem with playful brain-based solutions.

Head Start Trauma Smart® Department of The Crittenton Children’s Center has found Riley the Brave and accompanying resources to be “delightful and effective.” It’s one of many early childhood education centers across the country incorporating the BraveBrains framework into their staff training.

Elementary school leaders are finding the BraveBrains framework especially helpful for students getting left behind by other programs. Designed to supplement your current efforts, BraveBrains resources and training will help you “light up the learning brain.” The key is putting developmental neuroscience into a framework that equips staff, parents, and other adults to be partners in shifting the trajectory for vulnerable students.

Teaching young children about their brains doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact, it can be fun! BraveBrains provides live and virtual events for staff and youngsters, building skills, reducing negative behavior, and improving school culture! Email info@bravebrains.com to learn more.

3rd Grade through 5th Grade
