Parent burnout • Violent tantrums • Running away • Truancy • Defiance and Oppositionality • Inattention • Attachment delays/challenges • Aggression • Self-injury • Lying/Stealing/Hoarding

IT'S a brain thing!

These symptoms often can be traced back to underlying developmental trauma and brains that are short-circuiting to fight/flight/freeze responses. Dive into user-friendly brain science to increase your confidence and efficacy in these challenging therapeutic situations.

The inside scoop

- P. Eldreth

It changed the way I do casework.

- J. Stanley

Very practical information that can be used in our day to day work, especially with our parents.

It completely informs the way I conceptualize and work with my cases. This course and the book have been so helpful in my career.

One of the best parts of MBTI was having Jessica and her wealth of knowledge at our fingertips. She provided a comfortable space for growth and I am very grateful for this experience.

- J. Durant

- C. Lakin

- G. Hammack

I am in awe of what I have been learning. Completely mind blowing! The more I learn about this the more gaps I see in different treatment modalities.

THE f.a.q.s

I am a parent. is this course for me?

I am a parent. is this course for me?

Unfortunately, far too many kids who have experienced trauma are not getting deeply trauma-informed treatment from their community providers. While this course is geared toward professionals, the information has been helpful for parent participants as well. One parent stated: This class has been life-changing. I wish all foster parents could have this type of training.

Please reach out to info@jessicasinarski.com with any additional questions.

Why moving beyond trauma-informed?

Why moving beyond trauma-informed?

Many professionals I work with have had training on trauma and the brain, but application is still murky. When we mix in attachment science, it can feel even more overwhelming. That is why this course exists. I have seen the profound impact of shifting to this brain-based practice, and I want to share that with you!

When I started working with kids and families in the world of foster care and adoption, I realized I did not have the skills and knowledge I needed to do my job well. Good grades in graduate school didn’t prepare me for the messy world of generational trauma and grief that I was walking into. Then I found the power of “putting the brain in treatment.” I have been incredibly fortunate to work closely with clinical psychologist, author, and serious brain nerd Jonathan Baylin, Ph.D. After learning from him for a little while, we both realized we could do some fantastic work together. This course was born out of that partnership.

What will i learn?

What will i learn?

This course will help you apply the principles set forth in The Neurobiology of Attachment-Focused Therapy (Baylin and Hughes, 2016). You will gain a framework for understanding the brain that you can take with you into your work with children, teens, and families. We will spend our time digging into the meat of each chapter of The Neurobiology of Attachment-Focused Treatment with an emphasis on putting it in practice. Each session builds on the last to create a rich continuing education experience with benefits that last a lifetime.

do i have to attend live?

do i have to attend live?

I highly encourage you to attend live to get the most out of the interactive elements of the training, but I understand unexpected obstacles sometimes arise. As a courtesy, a recording of each session will be available to view until the next one airs.

will i receive ceus?

will i receive ceus?

Continuing Education Certificates of Attendance will be provided in PDF format along with a handout on course material and my CV. While this has been sufficient for CEUs toward license updates in years past, we cannot guarantee that individual licensing boards will accept this certificate for continuing education credit.

Can i just purchase one or two sessions?

Can i just purchase one or two sessions?

Each session builds on the last, so single session purchase/participation is not possible. You won’t want to miss any sessions (that’s why we are making them available by recording between sessions). If you’re interested in topical trainings, send me an email and let me know what’s on your mind. Also, be sure to sign up for updates below to stay in the loop on all our latest webinars and events.
